Sunburst Shutters was started in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who knew they could make a better shutter than any other in the industry.

The goal to be the best shutter company has transformed every aspect of the window treatment industry. Sunburst provided an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s residence to guide them in choosing the best window treatment product. With that in mind, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were attentive and friendly – and, at the same time, knowledgeable and helpful. Homeowners across the US fell in love with Sunburst Shutters fast.

In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the usual window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters showed clients a more enduring and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

At first, the company offered wood shutters solely. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should create the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you purchased it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst announced the creation of Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the first class shutters in the marketplace, they grew considerably, opening locations across the US. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters grew its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.

Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-made and professionally installed. With more than 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is the absolute source of window treatment products in in the US.

In 1995, Sunburst widened its services to Honolulu so that Hawaiians would have the opportunity to experience the quality and beauty of plantation shutters.
