Polywood® shutters are not only a fully recyclable shutter, but they are also comprised of up to 20% recycled Polywood material. We’re the only shutter company in Honolulu or even America that does that.
Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We aim for reusing materials whenever it’s feasible. We recycle water that cools down items when they’re finished in the ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter scraps – or regrind them and turn them into new shutters. Every year we recycle hundreds of tons of materials.
When we prepare our window treatments for transportation to your residence for installation, we put reusable corner pieces on the louvers’ edges and use minimal cardboard to pack up the shutters.
Our louvered shutters use patented paints that are environmentally safe and hypoallergenic. In our manufacturing process, our paints don’t give off fumes. We mean it when we declare our paints aren’t toxic.
Polywood Shutters don’t emit dangerous gasses – so you and your loved ones can breathe easier and savor your window treatments.
The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Honolulu, HI
If you ever want to switch out your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in Honolulu to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. All you have to do is take down the shutters yourself, and call our store manager at 808-797-2004 to set up a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse some part of them in future Polywood shutters. This is the case for Polywood shutters only—we are not equipped to recycle other shutter brands.
With this program, you can recycle Polywood shutters at no cost to you. And, together, we’re aiding in keeping the environment green in Honolulu.
