But what actually goes on during an in-home consultation? And how can meeting a representative in your home enable you to better choose the perfect window treatment? Even though every in-home consultation is personalized, there are a few constants that you should see.

Begin by scheduling an appointment by contacting your local representative. We will also offer alternatives, so you can be sure that your room matches your ideal.

After we come to your house, we’ll sit down and discuss what you are looking for in a window treatment. We’ll look at your lighting, privacy, and energy efficiency needs, and we’ll pay special attention to hard-to-reach or specialty-shaped windows. Your rep will also ask about how the room is used and what ambiance you are looking to accomplish. The final goal is to fully envision what your decor will ultimately look like with the window treatrments installed.

While we are sure that Sunburst will give you compentent in-home consultation, there are some actions you should never see from any window treatment company. It should go without saying, the quality of your consultation experience reflects the quality of the product.

Above all else, your salesperson should respect your home. The rep should come to your house as scheduled, ready to present, and offer to prevent floor scuffs with shoe booties. Your consultant should always give you product and company pamphlets and pricing details.

In regards to pricing, you should be given a detailed written quote. Don’t accept a guesstimate, scribbled on a scrap piece of paper or the back of a business card. And don’t take pricing estimates without window measurement. You should always know how much product and installation should cost. If an estimate ever seems too good to be true, please ask for references and look up the business’ online reviews.
